The three most important figures in the Jacksonville Jaguars helped the team enter the AFC Championships in their first season of co-operation, and they paid off in return.
Jaguar Friday announced renewals with coach Doug Marrone, general manager Dave Caldwell and executive vice president Tom Coughlin. The three-man contract allowed them to serve on the Jaguar until the 2021 season.
Jaguar turned up last season, the biggest contributor was Caldwell. Since signing general manager Jaguar in 2013, he has created most of the Jaguars squad through draft and free agents, notably the core Jaguars defenders in the past two offseason.
But Caldwell’s work is not without error. His first-ever draft did not give the team a make-it-all. None of the draft picks of the year still remain in the team. However, he showed a rebound in the draft for the next few years, picking up several players who made a huge contribution last season.
Coughlin and Malone got their current positions at the same time as the offseason last year. Kauflin, who was once the team’s first coach in team history, was back in management this time, while Malone was promoted to a new coach from the provisional coach. Caldwell was renewed at that time, the three men would have joined the team until 2019.
After losing 10-6 last season and defeating Buffalo Bill and Pittsburgh Steelers in the playoffs in a row, Jaguar owner Shad Khan thinks it’s enough to make sure the Threes play together team. He does have reason to think so: Jaguar is currently a young lineup, with many very few players and almost the first time in the team history to enter the Super Bowl.
Most of Marlon’s players next season will return to impact the playoffs again, the renewal of the team will make them more confident, and Caldwell will continue to enhance the lineup strength. Coughlin will continue to cheap jerseys run the team.
After this renewal, the future of Jaguar is even brighter.
